“To God’s elect, strangers in the world...” “..live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.” “Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world...” (1 Pet.1:1,17; 2:11 NIV) Jesus, when he was standing in weakness, and helpless before Pilate the Roman governor, said; “I am a king...My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest...” (Jn.18:36-37) The king was about to give his life for others that they might be able to come into his kingdom. A kingdom that is not part of this present world system; a kingdom that will endure forever. Jesus said, no one can see or enter the kingdom of God unless he is born again . (Jn.3:3,5) The apostle Paul tells true Christians, “For he (God) has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves...” (Col.1:13 NIV) Also the Bible says, “...since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe...” (Heb.12:28 NIV) Let us live in the new life of this eternal kingdom. God has done a wonderful and miraculous thing in bringing us into a relationship with himself, into a kingdom that is real and eternal. What is most marvelous is that the invitation goes out to all. A new birth and entrance to Christ’s kingdom is open to all who will come to Christ and put their trust in him; call on him. He will answer; forgive your sins and give you a new life in this eternal kingdom. Whosoever may come, and it is free. |
