BE A GOOD LISTENER

”My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. (Ja.1:19-20) “In the  multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who refrains his lips is wise.” (Pr.10:19 NKJV)

Listen to Solomon, who listened to David, his father.”When I was my father’s son, tender and the only one in the sight of my mother, He also taught me and said to me: Let your heart retain my words; Keep; my commands, and live.” (Prov.4:3-4) How important it is to listen. It is so easy to be doing or thinking on other things and not truly listening. You can even be thinking.of how you will answer a matter, rather than listening. Something important and worthwhile may possibly be coming from another.

Many times “listen” is used in the first few chapters of the book of Proverbs.Take time to concentrate and listen even as your read your Bible. It is not as important to read many verses as it is to meditate on what is being read.

So often in life the scriptures mentioned above, are very important: “quick to listen, slow to speak. He who refrains his lips is wise.”  A few words might be better than many. Listen!  You might learn something!

“Everyone should be. ”slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.” Anger, many times stops us from doing the right thing or, even worse, we are likely to do the wrong thing; hurting others and producing the  wrong results in our relationship with people  Thankfully, God is slow to anger which has profited us all.
