1 Co.15 is the resurrection chapter. It speaks of that great event that is promised by God and is sure to come.  ”For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; when he comes, those who belong to him.” (! Co.15:22-23 NIV)

The Bible is very clear; all mankind is under the sentence of death: “There is no one righteous, not even one. There is no one who does good, not even one.” (Ro.3:10,12).

We are all part of Adam’s race; and his sin, and as such we are sentenced to death. In Adam all die! However,God in his love and mercy, makes a way for us to come out of the condemnation and bondage of our sins. He makes us alive in Christ that he can show us the riches of his grace throughout the ages to come. (Eph.2:4-7) “therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. (2 Co.5:17)

There are only two locations, in God’s sight. Adam is the first man, and Christ is the second man. (1Co.15:47) There were many men born between Adam and Christ, but all were products of Adam. Jesus came as the second man; a different man, to die in our place, pay the penalty for our sins, and bring us into a new creation; forgiven and given a new birth; a new life. We are now in Christ!  This tremendous transition takes place when we trust and receive Jesus as our savior and Lord.  We are either in Adam (where we all begin) or we are in Christ. In Adam all die, but in Christ all are made alive  Born again into the very life of God.
