“Have you noticed that I speak to you more often when you are in worship and praise?”
These are words that the Lord clearly spoke to my heart while I was returning from Tulsa to Stillwater. I had been singing softly as I drove my car.  I had to admit that “I truly had not noticed.” Yet, as I began to think about this, I realized it was true.

First of all, I don’t go around hearing voices all the time.  However, at times, over the years, the Lord’s voice has been clear to my heart.  Through this word the scriptures freshly challenged me about the importance of a lifestyle of praise and worship for us who believe.

“...let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess his name.(Heb.13:15)  “...always giving thanks for everything.” (Eph.5:20)  “He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God.” (Ps.50:23)  “God is enthroned upon the praises of Israel.” (Ps.22:3 margin)  These are just a few verses that encourage us toward a life of praise and thanksgiving.

This cannot be just a good doctrinal position to take or “yes, I agree with it” attitude.  It is something so important that we should begin to practice and practice and practice more and more. “I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” (Ps.34:1)  The more we choose to do it; the more we will do it!

We honor God with our thanksgiving and praise for who he truly is; a great and faithful God.
Our faith is expressed well in our attitude of praise, and that opens the door to God’s life and help to flow in and through us. Praise his name!
