Much is said about being faithful in the Bible.  These are some of the statements. ”Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Mt.25:21)  ”Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.” (1 Co.4:2)  “Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you a crown of life.” (Rev.2:10)  It is an important and rewarding quality to God!

What about God himself? “he is faithful in all he does” (Ps.33:4)  “The Lord is faithful to all his promises.” (Ps.145:13)  “the Lord, who remains faithful forever.” (Ps.146:6) “And God is faithful” “The one who has called you is faithful.” ”he is faithful and just and will forgive us.” (1Co.10:13, 1Th.5:24, 1Jn.1:9)  These many statements of  the faithfulness of God are demonstrated over and over again as he deals with men in the scriptures.

There is a saying; “Those who trust him wholly, finds him wholly true.”  The faithfulness of God is an enticing thing!  It challenges us to trust and follow this one who is so utterly trustworthy; utterly faithful.  You will only find the reality of his faithfulness to you, as you take his challenge and trust him with your life; put your life in his hands.  Jesus was the perfect example; putting himself in God’s hands, and he now sits honored at the right hand of God himself.  He found God faithful to his promises. We can do the same.

Jesus had a unique calling. He is the head and leader of a new creation.  He set the example for us to follow, and as we do, we will find the same God faithful to us now and forever.  We are challenged to be faithful, because God is faithful!
