GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES! (Part #2) 11-22-2015

“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (Jn.8:31 NIV)

There are many things that come along to sidetrack us in our call to follow Christ. Many times it seems we should “give up.”  But Jesus tells us to hold on and keep following.  If you fall down, make mistakes, get up and keep going.  Failure only comes if we quit.

The promise, in the quoted verse, is that you will understand his word, get a better grasp of the truth, and you will have a greater freedom.  You will experience the truth of knowing and walking with God with greater clarity. In my own life, I have experienced a greater freedom from temptations and a greater sense of God’s love for me and all his people.  I had many misconceptions of God, but found out, as I continued in his word, that I had misunderstood this one I was following.  Praise the Lord for his faithfulness to teach us his ways.

“The Lord says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit or bridle to keep it under control.” (Ps.32:8-9 NLT)  Here is a wonderful and clear promise of God’s faithfulness to his followers.  Don’t be stubborn, but trust and keep following. He will lead you in the best way for you life. Walk in the light you have and he will clarify and give more light.

“The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.”(Prov. 4:18 NLT) Christ will faithfully guide us into his best!
