In Psalms 105, a Psalm written by King David, we see the eternal faithfulness of

God toward his promises. God had promised Abraham that his descendants would inherit the land that he lived in but did not own. Vs 8-9 tells us that God remembers his promise to Abraham, the word he commanded to a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham. Vs 10 to the end of the psalm, we see briefly how he worked it out. Over 400 years passed before the promise was fully accomplished. The key verse is V42; “For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham.” God keeps his word!

In the New testament writings, God promises, those who trust him, to forgive

their sin and remember them no more. He promises to change us within to be

more like him. He promises that we will know him personally (Heb.8:10-12) These

are great promises that come about as we trust him.

God promises “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Heb.13:5-6 NIV)

Here is another wonderful promise to those who come to Christ. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” (Ps.32:8 NIV) A promise of his guidance and our learning to follow him. Also his personal care of our lives. Can you imagine this? God takes personal charge of our lives to accomplish the best for us. Wow! He has proven true in the past. Now those who trust him, He will not fail. You and I will see it unfold step by step, and the benefits will count for eternity!
