GOD'S LAST WORD! (Part #1) 12-10-2017

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in times past to the fathers

by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by his Son…” (Heb.1:1-2 NKJV)

When  Adam was first created, God told him not to eat from a certain tree, he disobeyed and suffered a separation from God’s presence. Their close relationship was broken. From Adam to Moses, we see that man went his own way with no counsel from God. By the 6th chapter of Genesis, man’s heart was evil continually and violence filled the earth. God destroyed man, except 8 people in Noah’s ark. Man going his own way leads only to disaster.

Someone might say if God would just give direction and guidance, man would know what to do, and he would obey.  God chose a representative people, the Jewish nation and gave them a law and regulations to keep. They would live, be accepted, if they would fully keep them. Before Moses came off the mountain with the 10 commandments, they had build an idol and were worshipping lt. Human hearts are such that even if we know to do good, we go astray.

Because of his great love for mankind God did something for us that we could not do for ourselves.  He sent his Son, as a man, to help us so we would not perish. This is God’s last word to us: Jesus!  He came to save us by bearing the punishment for our sins, taking them on himself and dying in our place. God’s justice was satisfied.

As we come to him now, he will forgive our sins, but also give us a new life within. “Like a well springing up to eternal life. We are “Born again!”. “...if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; all things have become new.” (2Co.5:17).God’s plan for man will be fulfilled in those who come to Christ.
