“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.”  (2 Co.1:20 NIV)

Amen or “so be it” is affirming by the apostles the inclusive statement about God’s promises. They are all yes in Christ!  Peter declares they are “very great and precious promises so that through them you may participate in the divine nature.” (2 Pet.1:4 NIV)

We are told that all  things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to God’s purpose; to be conformed to the image of his Son. (Ro.8:28)  He wants to change us to be more and more like Christ.

“So do not fear, for I am with you: do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Is.41:10 NIV)  God wants to fulfill his purpose in your life. Are you tempted by fears of all kinds?  Are you challenged with discouragement because of your own weaknesses or by obstacles you face?  This promise is for you through Christ.

“For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Is.41:13 NIV)  Surely you have seen a hesitant, unsure or fearful child who is taken by the hand of his father or mother.  Such reassurance!  This is God’s promise in Christ to us. He will personally take hold of our lives and help us.  No wonder we are encouraged to trust in the Lord because we will not be disappointed.

Remember the old song?  “Put your hand in the hand of the man that stills the waters.  Put your hand in the hand of the man that calms the sea...put your hand in the hand of the man from Galilee;” The Lord Jesus Christ!  Step past the fear, and trust Christ.
