“...he (Jesus) showed them his hands and feet.  And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, Do you have anything here to eat?  They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence.” (Lu.24:40-43 NIV)

The disciples, who were with Jesus 3 years, who had heard him speak of his death and resurrection, were shocked.  Have you ever hear anyone say, “This is so wonderful. I just can’t believe this is happening.”  I believe this was happening to these men.  They were full of amazement and joy!  Jesus held out his hands and feet so they could see the nail prints. He eats a piece of fish in their presence.  Jesus, who had been dead for three days, was truly alive!!

The most important thing to me when I first turned to Christ: “Is this truly real or just another religion?”  I remember, when I was sitting on my air force bunk, so discouraged because of my own weaknesses, I heard a clear voice within say, “But you have Jesus.” and peace would fill my soul. That happened twice.  I remember the first time I shared with two of my buddies that I had become a Christian. All of a sudden, I was filled with such joy that I thought I would explode. I wanted to shout, with all my being, praise to God.  Let me be clear to you: Jesus is alive! He is worthy of your trust and allegiance.

As a Christian, you are called to the fellowship with God’s son. (1 Jn.1:3-4)  Jesus is the only way to a true and proper relationship with God.  This is a free gift that no amount of religious work or self effort can obtain.  I encourage all to go for it!.
