“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own  understanding:

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Prov.3:5-6)

For many this is a well known verse of the wisdom of Solomon from God. Some of you may have it memorized from hearing it often.  It makes and challenges us with wonderful, even simple truths that comforts us and moves us in the way of God.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart! Be wholehearted in your faith. He gave his Son for you and through him will guide and empower your life  Why this declarative statement? There so many things that are calling you away from God to other, seemingly valuable and satisfying objects.  “Lean not on your own understanding;” goes right along with the first declaration. You and I will not fully understand God’s ways as we choose to trust him with our lives. Circumstances, at times, will take unusual turns, and we will lack the understanding to comprehend God’s work. There will be difficulties and challenges we will face that may seem impossible to fulfil.our calling! Trust God with a whole heart.

In all your ways acknowledge him!  Trusting God involves realizing God is leading our lives in his ways and plan. Even without full understanding, we can choose to see God in our situations and therefore trust him who loves us with a perfect love.

As we trust God, and see him as our faithful shepherd, God has promised to “make your paths straight.”  The Bible tells us that his ways are perfect.  They are the best for us now and for eternity.  The end results will prove the excellent way.

If you have not memorized this verse with its challenges and promises. I would encourage you to do so  Many times the Spirit of God will bring it to your memory. It gives great encouragement.
