If you are really going to trust Christ with your life, it is not just an inward commitment, but must be lived out in your life.  You are a disciple of Christ!  That means you are learning and following Christ as Lord!  He has the power and he has shown his love for you. He will not do you wrong!

Make yourself available in a practical ways.  I urge you to set aside some time each morning or evening. (Some prefer one over the other.)  The important thing is to be intentional: do it.  During this time, give time for worship, praise, prayer, Bible reading.  You are, in a practical way, honoring the Lord, and opening yourself to Christ’s manifest presence, encouragement, guidance and correction.  “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.”(Ja.4:8)  You are called to the fellowship of God’s Son.(1 Co.1:9)  Many good and wonderful things will happen because you make yourself available.

This does not mean you are going to have some dramatic experience each time, but you are presenting yourself to him, who loves you and has a plan for your life. As you faithfully give yourself to him, he will work in you and through you his will.  There is nothing better!

As followers of Christ, you need to express your trust in a lifestyle of praise and thanksgiving.  “All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose.” (Ro.8:28)  You can open the day with praise, facing each day in a positive way.  Troubles will come, but God is working through them all.  You can end the day with thanksgiving.  You are following the one who has already triumphed. You have found the truth in Jesus and he has set you free!
