His unjust treatment and death!! (Mt.27:33-44)   As Jesus neared the time of his death, He said, “Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour? No, it is for this reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name” (Jn.12:27-28) He submitted himself to God’s will.(Mt.26:42)

They spit in his face and struck him with fists.  Peter disowned him and all of his disciples left him.  Jesus was terribly beaten.  Soldiers mocked him. He was crucified; then insulted by onlookers; mocked by religious leaders, even robbers, that were crucified with him, mocked him. In the end, as one of the robbers humbled himself, Jesus promised him a place in heaven.  In all of this, he submitted to God and steadfastly endured, for God’s sake and ours, this unjust treatment.

This was bringing to pass the full revelation of God’s love for us. The Apostle Paul tells

us; “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all..” (Ro.8;31-32)  God’s love for us revealed in Christ’s death.

Jesus, though he could call a multitude of angels at anytime,  humbled himself and became obedient even to the death of the cross. He fulfilled God’s will!  Now, God has highly exalted him and given him a name above every name. Here we see meekness fully displayed; Setting aside self-interest;  zealous for the interests of God and others. Jesus said, “Come and learn from me.” (Mt..11:29

There will be situations arise where we are mistreated, misunderstood. It is easy to react and get a bad attitude. We can get bitter, or fall into self-pity. The challenge of Jesus is to continue doing what is right, keep walking with God; serving him. Walk with the Lord. follow his example. Please God!
