“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations...In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth.” (Is.42:1,3-4 NIV)

We see this take place as Jesus is baptized. God speaks from heaven; “You are my son...with you I am well pleased.” and the Holy Spirit came upon him in the form of a dove. (Lu.3:21-22)   His purpose is to bring justice to the earth. As we look around us, it seems the world is far from being a just or righteous place.  Evil and corruption abounds.  In the midst of all strife and evil, God makes such an encouraging and challenging statement; "he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth."  Jesus is the faithful one who will not stop until his work is complete! The Bible is clear that one day every knee will bow and acknowledge that Jesus is Lord; his kingdom will cover the whole earth, and it will be a kingdom of righteousness (Justice). (Phil.2:9-11, Is.9:6-7)
This not only encourages us that God's work will be finished in God's time, but challenges us to be faithful in the purpose God has for us to complete, even as Jesus in faithful.. Our work, individually and collectively, is part of God's plan to make all things new; where righteousness abounds. “Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.” (1Co.4:2 NIV)

Praise God; it's coming!  Let's set our hearts to be steadfast in working with Christ to see it happen no matter how long it takes.
