This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool. Where

Is the house you will build for me?  Where will my resting place be? Has not my hand made all these things and they come into being?” declares the LORD.  “This is the one I esteem; he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.” ( Is.66:1-2 NIV)  This one true God, who has created all things, looks with favor on the humble one who has great respect for what God says.

“He(God) guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.” (Ps.25:9 NIV)  If we stop and think about it, the humble are the only ones who will listen and can be taught. They will learn God’s way!  Wow!  That seems so simple! The humble are willing to be led, and God leads them.

Jesus Christ was the perfect example of humility. The Apostle Paul tells us; “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus...And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death--even death on a cross!  Therefore God exalted him to the highest place…” (Phil.2:5,8-9)  “I have come to do your will, O God.”(Heb.10:7 Jesus’ words)

When the disciples, Peter, Andrew, James and John, were first called the Bible says “Immediately They left the boat (they were fishermen) and their father and followed him’. We are all to be followers of Christ. Some are called leaders, but in humility they are still followers. God may use others to teach and guide us but he will confirm his way as we walk humbly with him. He loves us and is faithful!
