Hundreds of years before the coming of Christ, Jeremiah, a Hebrew prophet, spoke of the new covenant God was going to put into effect.(Jer.31:31-34)  Jesus, when introducing communion (bread and wine), said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” (Lu.22:20 NIV)  God has established a new covenant!

The apostle Paul speaks of this better, glorious covenant that is an encouragement to all.(2Co.3:7-11)  First; it is glorious because it is a “ministry of the Spirit.”  If you read the covenant in Heb.8:10-12, it is clear there are no commandments to those under the covenant.  God says, “I will write my laws on their hearts.”  “I will forgive their sins and remember them no more.” It is God working for and in man.  Our calling is to trust and submit to God.

Second; it is covenant that “brings righteousness.”  This is a covenant that brings righteousness from God. It is not self-righteousness!  It is freely given to those who trust in Christ. (Ro.3:21-24)
We also receive a new life, God’s life by a new birth: a well of his life within.(Jn.4:10,14)  It leads us into a righteous, good life, as we trust in Christ and submit to him.

Finally; it is a covenant that will last.  The reality and work of God will continue forever. In the ages to come, God will show us the exceeding riches of his grace (unmerited favor) in his kindness toward us. (Eph. 2:7)

Because of Christ giving his life for all men, this new covenant is available to all who will come; humble themselves put their trust in Christ. God will fulfill all he has promised.  Do you want God to help you; to make you acceptable to him; something that will last?  Jesus is God’s answer to all!
