Be imitators of God...and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” (Eph.5:1-2 NIV)  “

”For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” (2 Co.5:14-15 NIV)

“...for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave.  It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.  Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.  If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.” (S. of S. 8:6-7 NIV)

The apostle tell us; “And now I will show you the most excellent way.”  Then we read the 13th chapter of I Corinthians; all about love.  Then he tells us; “Follow the way of love...”  Love is as strong as death; very few have come back from the dead.  It is tenacious; it does not quit, yet it can be very gentle.  It gives its all, even gives itself for the objective of its love.  God so loved that he gave his Son!!  Jesus loved us and gave himself for us!! (Eph.5:2)

As we choose this way, we have help.  We have been given from God, the Spirit of love.  (2 Tim.1:7)  Love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. He will help us move into this “most excellent way” as we trust God with our lives. If we lose our life, we find it.  The fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace...etc.(Gal.5:22-23)  God has set the example in showing us the way, and will help us to walk in the way of God.
