“Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; he has risen!” (Lu.24:5-6 NIV)  This was the message from the angels on resurrection Sunday morning, over two thousand years ago, to the women who had come to the tomb. This is the lInchpin of the Christian message that continues today.  “(He) was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Ro.1:4 NIV)  “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith...And if Christ has not been are still in your sins.” (1Co.15:14,17 NIV)

Those apostles who first carried the message, and many since then,  declared this boldly, and many paid with their lives as they steadfastly held to this truth. This was prophesied hundreds of years earlier. (Ps.16:9-11)  The New Testament writings are full of this bold and positive message. It is the proof that our sins were fully dealt with as Christ died for us, and then was raised from the dead..

“He who loves me will be loved by my FAther, and I too will love him and show myself to him...If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him “ (Jn.14:21,23 NIV)  These are the words of Jesus to those who trust and follow him,  He makes himself real to them.  This promise was not only for the first century believers, but is true today.  He is alive and still makes himself real; helping, guiding, comforting and strengthening those who trust him.

A vital relationship with the living Christ is still offered today to all who will come to Jesus. It is free and it lasts for eternity.
