Psalm 121 gives us great encouragement! First he asks a question; “where does my help come from?  Then comes the encouragement!. “My help comes from the Lord, the one who made the universe.” He has the power to handle all situations.

He watches every movement so your foot doesn’t slip.  He never goes to sleep or takes a break. Night or day, he is present to keep us from harm. He watches all your coming and going now and forever.

There is a song that goes: “Just when I need him, Jesus is near. Just when I falter; just when I fear. Ready to help me, ready to cheer. Just when I need him most.”

What can you and I do to facilitate all of this?  “ filled with the Spirit...Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord...always giving thanks to God the Father for everything…” (Eph.5:18-20)  David encourages us, “...I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love: for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. O My Strength, I sing praise to you; you, O God, are my fortress, my loving God.” (Ps.59:16-17 NIV)

The enemy of your soul, the Devil, will constantly fight you on this important truth. Singing and speaking thanksgiving and praise opens the way and invites the Lord into our lives. We are demonstrating our faith, our trust in him, as we do this consistently. Begin the day this way.Learn and sing Christian choruses as you do the dishes, or on your way to work.  At times, break out the hymn book and sing.  Worship and praise is not just for Sunday mornings.  We are walking with God, trusting him in all things. Let’s honor him. It really makes a difference in each day and in our lives.
