“By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death...For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who come to him must believe he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Heb.11:5-6 NIV)

There were two men among those early patriarchs that it is written; “They walked with God;” Enoch and Noah. (Gen.5:21-24, 6:9)  Noah walked with God during a time of great violence, while Enoch did so when there was seemingly little.  He walked with God when times seemed outwardly easy.  No great external  pressure. So many rush to God when life gets difficult or dangerous.  Even today, when there is a great crisis, the religious buildings fill up.  Enoch was different. He believed the true God was worthy of dedicated commitment.  He walked with God; got in step with him; gave time for fellowship with the true God.  When life is easy, it is easy to drift; to get caught up with the good life. Pleasure takes the front seat. Enoch did not walk that way; he walked with God.  It paid off.

Through this relationship, he saw the end of those who chose to leave God out of their lives. (Jude 14-15)  Through this walk of faith, he began to see God’s plans, and actually spoke about them before many understood. God’s secrets come to those who fear (respect) him.(Ps.25:14)

The scriptures seem to imply that Enoch’s walk with God began when he was 65 Years old.  This should encourage those that may have had little or no relationship with God, but you can begin now, and develop it. Are you challenged?  He rewards those who diligently seek him! Go for it!
