“Therefore we do not lose heart.  Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light  and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.  For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Co.4:16-18 NIV)

How can you see something you cannot see?  That is a challenge to us all.  However, as we read in the book of Hebrews we see those who did this very thing.(Heb.11:13)  They heard  the promises of God, and these words became a challenge.  They saw them as real; embraced them for their lives.  These men fixed their eyes on the unseen. I want to encourage you to do the same.  Read the scriptures; Old and New Testament, asking God to speak to your hearts.  The Bible tells us those who seek shall find.  That is the promise of Jesus.(Mt 7:7-8)

If we are not diligent, the problems and difficulties, also the glitter and glamor that is seen about us can cloud our view of the worthwhile and valuable things that God offers. We are challenged by the writer of Hebrews to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” (12:2 NIV)  Don’t just glance at him, but ”fix your eyes.”  If you have found he has started something good in your life, keep looking to him; he will finish the good thing he has started.  It will be something that will last forever! Remember, “what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
