The Words of King David: “The Lord is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?” (Ps.27:1 NIV)

It is amazing the confidence we can gain in the Lord as we follow him.  He is sure, steady, faithful and He never leaves us. (Heb.13:5-6)  No matter what we face in life, as we walk with him, all kinds of difficulties, trials and even death itself will come our way, but we are “more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Ro.8:36-37).  Down through the ages men and women have taken the challenge of walking in the Light of God; they have won great victories, some have suffered greatly, but all have won.

David’s secret: “One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: That I may dwell in the house (presence) of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to see him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe…”

There is the story of the man who was to be burned at the stake because of his faith in Christ. Other Christians asked him; how will we know that God has given you help in this time of suffering?  He said, If I lift my hands toward heaven, you will know it has happened. As he was being tied to the stake, he asked that his hand be left untied. When the fire was lit and the flames rose us around him: suddenly he lifted his hands to heaven. God had met him there!

I urge you to walk with God. Let him be the center of your life.  He is the same forever.  He still meets with those who choose him!
