T“...Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife.  For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” (Matt.1:20-21 NLT)

Why do we need to be saved from our sins?  Because all have sinned.(Ro.3:23) and the payment. for sin is permanent death.(Ro.6:23) The death mentioned here is not physical, but eternal death; separated from God and all that is good, and in a place of torment that will never end. To take this lightly and not consider seriously this matter, and God’s answer to our condition, will have horrible consequences.

The Bible tells us that when we were helpless “Christ died for the ungodly.” (Ro.5:6) In God’s plan of love to help us, Jesus took our place, dying for our sins, so God could remove the guilt from us.  He paid the price and we go free. As the old hymn says,”my sins not in part, but the whole, was nailed to cross and I bear them no more. Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! O my soul.”

But is does not stop there. God gives us a new life within, that helps us in living for him who loved us. Jesus said that it is like a well of living water within, that springs up to eternal life.  Our sins are forgiven and we have a new life!!

How can we receive this wonderful salvation?  Honestly, come to Christ and admit your need (your sins).. Ask him and he will freely forgive and give you a new life.  His name is Jesus. It means THE LORD SAVES.  He saves us from our sins, and we start a new life with him.
