Jesus, just before going to the cross and dying for all, said to his disciples: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends...This is my command: Love each other.” (Jn.15:12-13,17 NIV)

What seems an impossibility, Christ commands us to do.  However, God has made a way; “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity. but a spirit of power, of love and of self discipline” (2 Tim.1:& NIV)  When we come to Christ and trust him as our Lord, we are “Born of God.” We have been given a new life within; a spirit of love!

We are told: “,,,do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God” “ filled with the Spirit.” (Eph.4:30, 5:18)  The Holy Spirit is the one who helps us fulfil Jesus’ command. The Christian’s calling is not keeping certain outward religious rules and rituals, but a relationship with the risen Christ.  You and the Lord walking out his plan for your life together.  Jesus said, “Come after me and I will make you…”(Mk.1:17)  As we follow him, who is alive forever, he will work his life and will in us.  “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for his good pleasure.” (Phil. 2:13)

The apostle tells Christians to “present your body to God as a living sacrifice.”(Ro. 12:1)

Daily we can present ourselves to the Lord. A practical way of doing this is to spend a few minutes in the scriptures and fellowship with Christ.  Be Definite! This time can be a period we yield ourselves to God, and we will see him work in and through us his wonderful work; a life of love.
