“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb.4:16)

It is important to notice that it is not a throne of judgement, or throne of glory, but a throne of Grace. This is where you find unmerited favor (grace) How we all need this! We are in the time of God’s grace since Christ’s death and resurrection. The Bible tells us that he has gone into God’s presence for us! (Heb.9:24)

The verse above uses the word “therefore”. We are encouraged to hold on to our profession of faith; keep trusting this one who is in God’s presence for us.  He is one who can sympathize with our weaknesses because he was tempted in all the ways we are, but did not sin. He knows how we feel and what we face, and is ready to help. Jesus is not neutral in heaven, but on our side to help us at the throne of grace.

Therefore come boldly; come with full confidence, into God’s presence. Jesus Christ is there for you and me to give mercy and grace in our times of need.  Maybe you have never come to God for forgiveness of your sins (for all have sinned) I encourage you to come with full assurance that God will forgive and give you a new relationship with him.

Possibly, as a Christian you have done wrong and feel guilty; come with confidence and honesty, God will forgive and restore your peace.  He will continue leading you into his plans for your life.  Whatever your needs or challenges, come to the Lord now. Remember it is a Throne of Grace to find mercy and help. The apostle tells us plainly; “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (2Co.6:2 NIV).
