“This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.  Who is it that overcomes the world?  Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” (1Jn.5:4-5 NIV) They are born of God! (Jn.1:12, 1 Jn.5:1)

True faith does not stand alone.  It must have an object that it embraces.  Just to say,”I have faith” makes no sense. Maybe it is faith in yourself, or faith in your religious works, or faith in your church membership. Faith must have an object of its trust.  The Bible tells us that the faith of those who overcome the world are the ones who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

The objective of their faith is Jesus! They are trusting him!  He is the one who loved them enough to die for their sins.  He is the one who was raised from the dead and lives forever; the one who has all authority in heaven and earth.  He is the one God has made heir of all things and rules a kingdom that will last forever.  He is the one who controls  all circumstances, whether they seem good or bad. So Those who trust him are trusting the one who be greater than all difficulties, hindrances and challenges.  He rules over all.  He is the one who makes all things work together for good to those who love him.  They are trusting the one who has promised never to leave nor forsake them, therefore they can boldly say, “the Lord is my helper.”   They have been born of God and belong to God.

Who can have this relationship with God?  The Bible says, “Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. (Rev.22:17 NIV)  Come to Christ and put your trust in him.  He is God’s answer to victory now and in the life to come.  Here is one we can fully trust and he will not fail.
