“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” (Col.2:6-7 NIV)

“you...put him (Jesus) to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead.” (Acts 2:23-24 NIV)  God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. Exalted to the right hand of God...”(Acts 2:32-33 NIV)  “God has made this Jesus, who you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” (Acts 2:36 NIV)

This one who died for us and rose again from the dead; who ascended to heaven and is exalted at God’s right hand, is Lord  This Jesus, God has made him Lord of all with all power and authority in heaven and earth. This was Peter’s message to the crowd at Jerusalem, and is the same today. This is where the Christian life begins; receiving Jesus as Lord!

Then we are continue to live in him as the Lord of our lives.  We are to get better acquainted with him through the scriptures and in prayer.  You see Jesus is alive and real, and as we acknowledge his Lordship in our lives; looking to him, he will make himself more and more real to us. True Christianity is a living relationship with him.  He is the one who is alive forevermore!  This is true so matter what the circumstance.

Our response to him, and the truth about him, is thankfulness.  Overflowing thankfulness!  We have our sins forgiven and have been brought into an eternal relationship.  It is the best thing that has or will happen in this life. That is why we can start each day with praise. Give thanks to God in all situations; good or bad.  Jesus is the Lord, and we get to trust, walk with and serve him now. One day will be meet him face to face.  Continual thanksgiving is right and proper!
