THIRSTY FOR GOD! 1-11-2015

“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” (Jn.7:37-38 NIV)  Where was Jesus when he makes this declaration?  He was in Jerusalem at a special religious feast, among religious people.  If anyone is thirsty?

Imagine!  You can be in the midst of religious activity; even designed by God, and still have a thirsty soul.  You are looking for something real in God.  You would think a feast of this type would be just the place to be.  Sometimes we are looking for something that satisfies the soul, but in the wrong place.

Jesus gave a simple and clear answer for the thirsty.  Come and trust me, he cries out! Something good, streams of spiritual, living water will flow out of your inner being and it will satisfy!  In Jn.4:10,14, Jesus tells a woman with real needs, about the gift of God; a well within that springs up to eternal life. This is the basis a proper relationship with Christ.  It is real!

I have found this true in my own life. When I first came to him and trusted Christ, he became real.  Also over and over, through the years, as I would come to him, the new life within would bring satisfaction, encouragement and assurance. I want to encourage you in the same way, trust and come to Christ, he can give new vitality, vision, direction for your life.  The living Lord has promised this and he will do it.   “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me (Jesus)  and drink!  Not Just once, but many, many times!  The well of God’s life is within every believer!
