“Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant?  Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.” (Is 50:10 NIV)

There are times in the life of a true believer, one who respects God and endeavors to walk in God’s will, he finds himself directionless.  Maybe there seems no real clarity of guidance in your life.  You have prayed and prayed, but nothing is developing. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. This verse encourages us and gives direction.  When it is dark; it is time to lean (trust) on the Lord. Your faith in the Living God is being tested.  Pray and give thanks.

Remember God is not confused.  He never lacks direction.  He knows exactly the work
he is doing and going to do. He always has our best in mind.  Ps. 139:12 clarifies to us the full eyesight of the Lord. “...even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.”  That is why we can pray and give thanks.  Truth sets us free and gives peace.

Jesus said this, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (Jn.8:12 NIV)  This seems to contradict what I have been saying, but not so.  Actually, as we follow (trust & praise) Christ, the true light; in the midst of unsure, difficult situations; his reality, comfort, encouragement will be there.  His light is life!  His peace, even joy, may be experienced in the midst of the darkness.   It may seem dark and uncertain, but the Lord Jesus knows how to bring encouragement to us even in difficult times.  He knows how to do it just when and how we need it most.
