“My times are in your hands..” (Ps.31:15 Niv)  In our lives there are all kinds of ups and downs.  Very difficult times arise that seem to last forever; even though prayer is made, they may linger.  Why don’t things change?  Doesn’t God care?  Where is he?   Job, of the Bible, had such hard times with circumstances and physical affliction.  He questioned God and the happenings. Yet, at the end of all of these trials, he exclaimed: “My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”  Through this time, that seemed so hard to understand, he received a greater understanding of God. It was like the difference between hearing about someone and seeing someone.  Precious Understanding had taken place. Can we learn from Job? God wants us to know him and he uses life circumstances, many times, to reveal himself.

“Trust in him (God) at all times, O people.” (Ps.62:8 NIV)  Not only does God have our times (ups and downs) in his hands, but we are encouraged to trust him in all these situations.  How can this be done?  Not because of the circumstances themselves, but the character of the one in charge.  God loves us and is faithful to us!!  This is demonstrated over and over in the Bible; in the lives of those who have walked the way of faith before us.

In the end, life is all about our relationship with God.  Eternity is about our relationship with God.  You can trust this one who sent his Son to die in your place that you might know and walk with God.  You can trust and get to know him. This reality will count for eternity.
