“Wait for the Lord and keep his way.  He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.” (Ps. 37:34 NIV)

We live in a world that seems so full of injustice. So many are mistreated because of their ethnic or religious background. People have power and  use that power to hurt or destroy others that seem to be in their way.  This seems to go on and on with no end, but that is not really the case.

For evil men will be cut off.(v9)  “a little while and the wicked will be no more.”(v10)  “...the wicked will perish.”(v20) “I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a green tree...but he soon passed away and was no more.” (v35-36)  “Turn from evil and do good, then you will dwell in the land forever.” (v27)

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret--it leads only to evil.(Ps.37:7-8) This is the counsel of the Lord to us.  If we live in anxiety, anger, unrest it will lead us to do things that are foolish and unwise. Our calling is to do good, help when we can.  We are to be a witness to others that God is real and offers forgiveness and help to those who turn to him. “Go into all the world (close by or far away) and tell the good news to them. (Mk.16:15)

Let us keep walking in the ways that please God. We may have to wait, but, in the end, those who live God’s way: win! However, the wicked, who seem to prosper:  lose forever.
