This short life on the earth, perhaps 80 or 90 years, is a very unusual and important time. What we do with this time counts for the eternity that follows, and we never get a “second time around.”  We have this one life to prepare for all the eons to come.  How are we using it?

Biblically, our days are numbered. (Ps.139:16)  In Acts 17:24-31, The apostle Paul tells us “from one man God made all the nations.”  God also determined their locations and times on the earth.  “God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”(v27NIV)  The apostle continues to tell us that God is not a man made idea of some kind, and now he commands all men to change their thinking. (truly reach and find the true God)  God is going to bring things on this earth to a conclusion, for he has appointed a day when he will judge the world by Jesus Christ, whom he raised from the dead.

In the midst of a world that makes great plans and is full of many activities that may seem so important, God is doing something that has eternal meaning,  He is calling out a people for himself. (Acts 15:14) Through the good news of forgiveness and a new life through Jesus; those who believe and follow Christ are preparing themselves for eternity with God.

Your time here is so short, yet so important.  Stop and consider from the Bible what God is offering.  It is a free gift,  The majority of the world goes for things that have little lasting value.  Jesus said, “What does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?
