WHAT ABOUT YOU? 12-21-2014

“But what about you?” he (Jesus) asked. “Who do you say I am?”  Simon Peter answered,”You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” ( Mt.16:15-16 NIV)

The scripture goes on to tell us that God had made this real to Peter, who Jesus is.  He was truly a blessed man. I remember that in my own life, I parrotted to myself words of faith acknowledging Jesus as God’s son.  I was told this made me a Christian, a follower of Christ.

However, it was not real to me.  It was about ten years later, that I realized my need for a savior and put my my trust in Jesus as God’s answer for my need.  It changed my thinking and my way of life.  I really became a follower of Christ.

Have you truly considered, and has it dawned you who Jesus is?   He is God’s answer to a person’s desire to be forgiven and accepted by God.  Free from the judgment to come.  He is God’s answer to a new relationship with the almighty that is freely ours through Christ; a personal relationship that is very real. You can actually fellowship with the Lord himself.

Some important people tell us that Jesus was a good teacher, having many good things to say.  Even other religions acknowledge him as a wise man.  Some only think of him as an adorable baby, born in a stable.  The Apostle Paul declares him as ”shown to be the Son of God when He was raised from the dead by the Holy Spirit.  He is Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Ro. 1:4 NLT)  He is the Head of a New Creation, that is destined to share the glory of God through out all eternity.  Those who embrace him as Lord and savior are called to share all with him.  Who do you say he is?
