“What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? (Mt.16:26) Many times as I hear of a well known person passing out of this life, I wonder how is

his relationship with God? He  seem to have gained much in this life, but what about eternity?  I certainly cannot judge.

“Then he said to his disciples, If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.” (Mt.16:24-25) When we first come to Christ, we must believe or trust him. We have found God’s man for now and eternity.  Then Jesus tells his followers what it means; Go My Way and you will gain the reward that lasts forever. If you choose your own way, you will miss and lose what would have been yours in eternity.  Jesus made it clear so we can clearly make the choice.  We are to trust and follow this man who walked the same way, set the perfect example and won the full reward.  You may stumble, even fall, on this way, but the challenge is to get up and keep going.

“For the Son of Man (Jesus) is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.” (Mt.16:27)  In following Christ, God leads in many different ways accomplishing different tasks, but the reward one day will be to all who start and follow Jesus Christ.  Whether we are called early in life or later; Christ will share with us his eternal reward and glory.  There is nothing to compare to this that is offered to us.  Let’s go for it!
