“Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” (Lu.2:49 NKJV) “...I do not seek my own will but the will of the Father who sent me.”(Jn.5:30) There are many passages in the Bible that continually verify this truth. Jesus was a follower of God’s will for his life. Even as Jesus approached the time of his death on the cross, he pray to his God. “Father, if it is your will, take this cup away from me; nevertheless not my will, but yours, be done.” (Lu.22:42) In the Philippian letter, the apostle Paul wrote about Christ; “He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” (2:8) God had a purpose for Jesus coming to earth and it was finished as the Lord Jesus went to the cross and rose from the dead, and is now Lord over all things. God has made him so! Paul tells us in Romans 8:28-29 that all things work together for our good to those who love the Lord and are called to his purpose of being conformed to the likeness of Jesus. Everything works in our lives to make us more and more like Christ.
