7th Annual NCF Chili Cookoff - This Sunday, Feb 16

posted Feb 14, 2014, 12:58 PM by Web Admin
Right after service Sunday we celebrate our 7th annual Chili Cookoff!
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun!

How do you enter?
Just show up Sunday morning your best Chili in tow.  Take it to the kitchen and tell the workers the name of your chili and which category you want to enter. Every chili has a unique name, so be creative here.
You can choose to enter the categories 'Traditional' or 'Hot and Spicy' or 'Anything Goes!'  We will keep your Chili warm until lunch time.  Most everyone brings their chili in a electric crock pot, stove top pot, or some are put in the oven to keep warm. We will find a way! All you have to do is get it to the church, tell us the name and what category you are entering.
We use 'blind judging' in all three categories.
The judges will not know whose is whose. We have one judge for each of the three categories and that judge will pick one winner in their group based on aroma, consistence, color, good flavor, and aftertaste.  Our judges are handpicked for their culinary expertise!
The church will provide the sides: cornbread, hot dogs (for the kids), salad, etc.
So if you don't bring a chili, please bring a dessert.
Two options for what to bring: Chili or Dessert.  That's it!

The winners will go home with a cool prize!
