"Christ caring for people, through people."

Stephen Ministry is a ministry of several local congregations in which trained and supervised lay persons, called Stephen Ministers, provide one-on-one Christian care to individuals facing life challenges, difficulties, or stressful times.  This confidential care is provided without cost to adult members of the congregations or community.  Care receivers are matched with a Stephen Minister of the same gender.

Individuals currently experiencing these life situations may benefit from a Stephen Ministry relationship:
  • Loss of a loved one
  • Hospitalization
  • Divorce or separation
  • Loneliness or discouragement
  • Spiritual crisis
  • Unemployment or a job crisis
  • A terminal illness
  • Incarceration
  • Aging
  • Birth, adoption, or miscarriage
If you or someone you know is facing a difficult or stressful situation similar to those listed above, please consider the benefit of care by a Stephen Minister.

To receive a care referral, or if you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister or participating in this ministry, please contact Stephen Burke at slburke@ncfok.org or 405.624.0723
